I have a stalker

he keeps on calling and sending messages. I've been sleeping with him for a month, then i wanted to go, for many reasons. But he can't get over it, he keeps on coming outside my door at night, after denying his phone calls, and it scares me. He 'accidentally' meet me often around and insists that we need to talk. I refuse, after i've accepted a few times and see where is this going.
I don't want to get the police involved, as he's been in prison in the past and i don't want to cause him further trouble.
But i've to admit i'm afraid

This is a tricky situation and I think you are right to be frightened.

1. If you won’t involve the police (yet), keep a diary of contacts (mail, text, phone, social media, in person). Detail date, time, place and what happened and what was said. Take and save screen shots where possible.

2. Change your routine at least temporarily. Don’t be so predictable. Leave earlier. Change your shift. Stay with a friend.

3. Do not yield to demands that ‘you have to talk.’ Do not go anywhere private with him. As firmly as possible, say “No.”’Always.

4. Explain the situation to family and friends and ask that they accompany you when possible so you are not alone.

5. Change your phone number, your screen names and your email address. Make it more difficult for him to find you.
