So I don’t really know if this is a date or not

A guy coworker and I talk occasionally and we were joking with each other while txting and he asked me to go go karting with him so he could show me that he could beat me. I think it was implied it would be only us going. And then I asked if it was just going to be us or were we inviting coworkers and he was like I guess we can invite other people. So because I’m a little confused whether this is a date or not I asked one of my good guy coworker friend and he said it was a date. And my supervisor B heard and got mad (he likes me but won’t really act on it) and i don’t really know how I feel if this is a date.
