Would you ever date a friend?

Or would that ruin the friendship?

Is it better to just date someone you don't have any kind of friendship with?

My wife and I knew each other for several years before we got together. I never really considered dating her at the time ... Ironically it was at the urging of her best friend (who I was hooking up with at the time, but who needed to move back home). Before she left for home, she told me that her friend had a big crush on me and once she was gone, I really needed to ask her best friend out.

Once we had a couple of dates things moved very quickly...

We have now been married over 30 years...
