Would you still tell someone you liked them even if you sensed they didn't feel the same way?

Sometimes I do, even if it is risky. Sometimes my feelings are so strong I feel, "Life is too short to keep this inside, and I cannot go on without telling her how I feel." It does not always end well, though: I have lost friends, and even scared people that way. I need to learn to bury my feelings and move on.
