A guy stood me up yesterday, but sent me a message today apologising and asking me to spend the day with him. Should I go?

I'm only asking, because I like to see the good in people, and I'm making sure I'm not walking into a massive trap.

We organised a time and place to meet each other, because neither of us have phones, so we put trust in e that the other would be there. HE WAS NOT THERE. I felt like a total idiot for believing his bullshit and went home. He sent me a message and told me that he tried calling my work and that something came up.
