Am I overreacting?

I’ve been talking to a guy for almost two weeks now but we’re not at the dating stage, just getting to know each other. Everything was fine at the beginning, we texted a lot as well as talked on the phone for long hours. Last weekend he got so busy with work, mother’s day and a birthday party which I understand but ever since then we haven’t been communicating much. He’s the one who asked to take me out and spend time with him. He seems like a great guy and everything it’s just the lack of communication which scares me and makes me think we won’t get any further. I just asked him if he really wants to take me out.

Now that I think about it I should’ve waited a few days or so to see if he would message me but do you guys think it was ok for me to do so?

A date is just a date. It's okay to
ask questions, but I think a healthy perspective is to not romanticize a date. Real life does happen, and honestly, friends are better

@SW-User yeah but I’m flying out to his state. Not necessarily to meet him but I have family there. But he’s the one who asked to take me out so my point is, I don’t want to go there and he end up backing out that’s why I wanna know now because there’s lack of communication. I just don’t want things to be awkward

I want him to be honest and straight up, if he was messaging me out of boredom say it, if you actually wanna take me out, let me know

@FlowerchildK16 I think that's a good idea. I'd focus on family time while I was there
