Does the pain of losing love ever really go away?

It depends who it was and when in my life.. My first real girlfriend was when I was 18 and we split up after six months and I pined for her for about three years. My first marriage ended and I thought it not possible to hurt so much and not die, I was in one hell of a state. I have had relationships and loved and cared deeply within them and when it's ended it's had various effects from 'That was nice, move on and a fond farewell' to Unspeakable grief.
