Would you reconsider dating someone

Who leaves the house at midnight to run away from a hailstorm, so that it would not hail on his car? He left me and my daughter at the house to protect his car. My daughter was scared of the storm. I spent the evening consoling her. For some reason I felt abandoned by my boyfriend. Normally a decent guy. I’m kinda embarrassed to be asking this question.

Hail storms are not dangerous.
But hail does damage the roof of a car severely.
I can understand him wanting to protect it, because its really costly to repair that.
I think for me it would depend on how he did it. Rather than the fact that he did it.

Yes it would probably cost $500 to repair his car@SW-User

@Mindful Yeah. I once got stuck in a hailstorm. The roof of my car looked like it had been pelleted into some form of a bubble wrap.

Would you leave your partner at home at 1 A.M. to outrun a hailstorm to protect your car?@SW-User

@Mindful No. But that doesn't make him necessarily a bad or person who doesn't care. Talk to him for his reasons.
He might have thought it's not going to bring you any harm being safe in a house. But he didn't have $500 to spare for repairs.

Sometimes, people got to be practical.

Thanks. That’s another problem. To me a man who is 52 years old should have $500 for an emergency like that. He doesn’t. At least yes, He is being practical.@SW-User

@Mindful That is now something that comes down to what you want. If his lack of resources affect you, you might want to cut it short.

Affects me a little. For as much as I support him it bothered me that he just left us alone. @SW-User
