Too much missing information. Did he cheat because you were hanging out with your ex behind his back? Because you were hanging out with your ex frequently? Because you were hanging out with your ex in your ex's bedroom?

Does boyfriend mean somebody you are dating casually, or someone with whom you are in a stated exclusive relationship?

Do you mean he cheated by having sex with someone else or by hanging out with somebody else? How do you know he cheated?

Having sex isn't the only way to cheat. You can cheat emotionally too (I wish I could still be with my ex instead of the man I'm with).

Finally, playing musical beds and cheating and revenge are great ways to ruin a relationship, your reputation and your life.

If he cheated and you can't or won't forgive it, break up and move on. If your chief goal is to 'get him back for cheating' then this relationship is not based on love. At best it will take a long time to regain trust and it doesn't sound worth the effort.

He cheated on you because you were hanging out with your ex. Why you were hanging out with your ex we do not know. Now you want revenge on him for his cheating.

I think you are both too immature for a relationship. A committed relationship does not involve revenge, mistrust or oneupmanship. Focus on what you want in life and then find a partner that supports and embraces your goals.
