My niece is into this stuff...her life in general is a mess and I doubt if this works to help her.
In the 60s, as a girl hippie, I lived with my hippie boyfriend and we were not exclusive. Many of our friends and acquaintances lived like this although the expression "polyamory" was not used back then.
This is, in my opinion, not a good idea for many reasons. One of them is that people are complicated and maintaining even ONE relationship is hard enough for most of us. I do not recommend it.
