@sarabee1995 a magnificent sight! Shall we sail the high seas?
sarabee199526-30, F
@YourBuddyRandall I already do. What assets do you bring to this arrangement? 馃え

@sarabee1995 I have modest aavings, a solid long term investing stratagy, and a proclivity for resource management and tactical strategy that would serve us both well as we jockey for power.

I love animals, have,always loved the sea, and respect our forces. -- I would be not the most skilled sailor, but among the most dedicated. This dedication would spill into other areas of life and benefit us both greatly.

Plus, I give good back rubs. I can be affectionate, but I'm not too clingy. Sometimes adults have to be about business.

@YourBuddyRandall Tactical Strategy, huh? Lol. Umm, what is your background for such a skill set?
YourBuddyRandall26-30, M
@sarabee1995 That's classified.

Just kidding. I'm not a military person or anything. I beat civilization on Deity difficulty regularly though, and I've read Ender's Game and Tsun Tsu's "The Art of War."

I think we could make shit happen.

@YourBuddyRandall You've read Sun Tzu? For real? What did you think?
YourBuddyRandall26-30, M
@sarabee1995 I was told to read it in the context of its value in informing how we might approach relationships. Five pages in, that seemed an unhealthy frame to read from.

I felt it was interesting, though.

In particular, the section on when to go to war and when not to.

The tactics themselves -- using the terrain, skirmishing, attacking weaker points first, etcetera, were intuitive to me.

But just..,the role of prudential judgment in decision making surprised me.

"When attacking, make sure you have enough food or your troops will starve. Keep morale high by having some alcohol but not too,much. Be wary of spies. Your army is only as strong as your economy"

These things are things I had not thought as much about.

@YourBuddyRandall The connection he drew between military strength and the underlying economy has been proven time and again throughout history.

@sarabee1995 it has! I just mean to say that I took a lot from it: It made me think of war in a broader context. Not just as battles, but whole systems, with inter-connected parts.
sarabee199526-30, F
@YourBuddyRandall Yup, exactly.
