How do you honestly trust someone to start another relationship again after being hurt so profoundly?

It won't be easy and will take time. Emotional pain can take longer to heal than physical pain. Might be an idea to wait until you're ready before trying another close relationship. Starting a new one before you're ready could cause you more pain.
