Why do men battle their wives and galfriends?

I really dont get the logic.
Men are physically strong, why would a man want to prove hes a man by slapping a women?

Again, GUYS hit their girlfriend or wife, MEN do not.

And while I agree with your point and do not strike my wife, where is the logic of ANY one purposely pushing the buttons of someone you know to be violent
