Is it nonsensical to be bothered by your heterosexual partner's homophobia?

Even though this person's bias doesn't directly impact your lives, should the lack of tolerance trouble you?

Do a background check on him just to see if he might be secretly gay. I would want to know where all this disapproval came from.
