I had read the original post before coming here because I was confused by how you could be confused by what he typed. I didn’t realize that he had typed “then” instead of “than” until reading comments here.
What he typed was technically wrong. However, given the context of the question he was answering, it was clear to me what he meant; hence why I did not pick up on his mistake.
Many people mix up “then” and “than” as they can sound similar and are spelled nearly the same. So comparing that to “street” and “road” is like comparing apples and oranges.
