Yes. A partner should meet all of your needs; mental, emotional, physical, sexual, intellectual, etc. If they don't then why are you with them? They are more of a friend or a friend with benefits rather than a partner.

More like intellectually challenge each other.

They have to be able to keep up with me.

A must

It is important that there is no intellectual chasm between both. That can push people to feel alienated as the other looks outward for intellectual satisfaction.

SW-User
No. That’s fine and all, but I like when someone can make me laugh more than making me think. Plenty makes me think. Not much makes me laugh.

SW-User
It’s in the top part of the list.

Challenges me how? Like constantly argues or plays Devil's Advocate? No that's annoying. I had an ex who would argue with everyone about everything, regardless of his own personal opinion about the topic. He just did it to "play Devil's Advocate" and it drove everyone crazy.

Absolutely. And, one to whom it's important to be challenged by me, intellectually and spiritually.
RoxClymer · 41-45, M
absolutely, and one reason I don't have a partner right now

SW-User
I'd prefer that, but I'll take what I can get.

No. She has other qualities that are much better than mine.

SW-User
Rather than challenge, I'll go with stimulate.
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
Not at all.
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
No other way.

If I wanted a challenge...I´d stay at a corner and insult people away...lol...
