We all have different perspectives, although that of being an older woman who remains unmarried seems to be the common image women try so hard to avoid.

We are raised with the idea that we must depend on a partner. Which in ways, I agree... the sexes compliment one another. It is the ideal, but the characters dominate these roles.

But we mustn’t settle solely out of fear of judgment or loneliness.

We should learn and invest in ourselves, for ourselves... not for the idea of someone else.

@LithiumDrop Many, many, many of us do not depend on a partner. Women are much more independent of men these days.

Also some of us are gay so....
@Fernie @blasphemy666 Sorry I wasn’t SPECIFIC enough, but this is the majority so...

@blasphemy666 What is the L in LGBTQ stand for? All my life the G stood for Gay MALES and the L was for Lesbian/Women. A very beautiful word that has been demonized so Lesbians call themselves Gay now. It's sad. The word was very powerful when there was a community
@LithiumDrop I agree 100%. Not enough homosexuality or independence will bring society to this reality.
A lot of people are afraid of judgment. There’s more to the world than the America’s... people forget
Fernie · F
@LithiumDrop how do you know it's the majority?
@Fernie People read, and travel and talk to people of different cultures. It’s how people learn.
We don’t sit and take tally of what the news or those in our small circle share with us. The world is too big to assume anything if you haven’t explored it.

@Fernie L still stands for lesbian. I don't know if lesbians have purposely given up on this word or anything about its demonization but i can speak about why i prefer gay over lesbian-
1. All my lesbian/bisexual female icons use this term to address themselves.. So i guess the word gay is simply more popular in the lgbtq community
2. I feel that my identity as a homosexual among heterosexual people precedes of being a women homosexual among male homosexual... Therefore i feel more comfortable using the term gay. Even Lesbian is fine, it's just more specific while gay can be considered as an umbrella term. Ofcourse my perception about my identity is a result of the contemporary time. Had i been in the earlier times, maybe i would have preferred lesbian over gay depending on what part of me i wanted to focus on.
