Is it normal for my parents to ask me who I’ll be dating?

I’m 25 years old, still living with my parents and tomorrow I have a date with an older man that I’ve known online for three years. I’ve only mentioned him a few times to my parents but not his real age. But now my parents want me to show a picture of him and I’m afraid they might refrain me from dating him if I show them.

Go ahead and tell them. I'd think that they should know if they disapprove that all it will do is make you want to be with the older man even more.

If they don't object then you'll probably lose interest.

Isn't that how it usually goes.
