@SW-User That video hurt my brain more than this question. I admit it's not fully scientific, but about a quarter of PornHub's visitors in USA & world were women, and that number has been raising rapidly each year as it's becoming more acceptable. And PH's not exactly a site that specifically caters to women's tastes.
Anyway, the dirty secret is that men & women match best when they are of roughly equivalent attractiveness (And this can be affected by more than appearance, but thenagain when you're matching, it's mostly appearance, unless he's rich enough to sweep them off their feet), but everybody wants to date upwards.

@Faust76 Sad, but true.

@SW-User Hey, if you argued that, I'd be compelled to argue the opposite! :p What other people say about outer beauty being fleeting, and personality etc... but when everybody has figurative or literal Tinderfull of matches, the opportunity's going to go to the best looking one that's available (Wasn't nabbed by somebody more attractive). Of course, attractiveness IS subjective, but it's been noted how in the age of mass media and super-stars, everyone pretty much agrees on the unrealistic ideal, and if they don't, they're a nerd, a social misfit who isn't acceptable to anybody.

Seems like one needs to pull off something pretty stupid for it not to be deemed "charming quirk" once they've passed that point, and the dating is just a formality to make sure nobody more attractive becomes available in the meanwhile. Oh no, wait, since no commitment is expected anymore, that's the whole show actually, until they either find someone more attractive, or get dumped for someone more attractive. You get exceptions, of course, "fell in love with a friend" is a good one (Except for where you lose the friend) because you get to actually see some personality, though the guy was likely gunning for it all the time. Somebody needs to make a study about how many marriages started because "accidentally got pregnant during drunken sex but remembered his name", because that seems to be what I most often hear.
