What would you do about an ex who is descending into a religious mania?

We are both Christians. Recently he has been predicting the apocalypse and talking about it excitedly. He believes he will be fighting on the front line with the saints. And he sees himself dying in my arms. Should I tell his mom?
I really wish this were a trolling post...but it is 100% legit

Thank God he is an ex and therefore not my problem.
The problem with religious mania is that there is no cure.

religious mania is not something that can be reasoned with - it has to run its course.

Yikes. Guess its good he's an ex.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
If he has other support persons let him be. He is an ex and your relationship state may not let communications be clear.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
I would find his most sensible friend and ask him why he thought that was the best tactic. To them, very they all are doing it and still remain friends, it must be.
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
What about telling his mom?
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
That’s a good idea, but I suppose I would ask one of his other friends to go with you. Then Mum and you can hear two sides to the story.
saintsong · 41-45, F
I would tell his mom
JimminyChristmas · 56-60, M
Try to talk him down. You still have to have perspective and context when you are a believer. It's easy for some to get over excited. I hope it works out OK.😇
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
@JimminyChristmas I tried talking him down with logic...
I would talk to him mom. It sounds like he is in need of a mental health evaluation and probably medication.

@Earthwrap Absolutely.

@Autumnlover I'm sure his mom would help
They are an ex. Why would i care what they wish to do? They are history to me.
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
@Elandra77 I care about him still
@antisocialbutterfly I don't mine. They hurt me too bad. Intentionally.
SW-User
He's beyond your help and his mom's.

Tell her if you wish, but there's nothing more you can do.
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
@SW-User I'm really worried
SW-User
If they won't listen to you, there's not much you can do.
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
@SW-User I'm worried and it's freaking me out
SW-User
@antisocialbutterfly It's going to be OK
SW-User
You should have him speak to his pastor. They can help.
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
@SW-User apparently his pastor cuts him short...like hears that he's been reading revelation and that's it
SW-User
@antisocialbutterfly that is sad. Perhaps a n elder or another mature believer.
JimminyChristmas · 56-60, M
By the way, he can't predict the apocalypse, it's already been done.😁
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
@JimminyChristmas well thanks
JimminyChristmas · 56-60, M
@antisocialbutterfly Sorry, I know it's a serious situation.
SW-User
I think you really got to talk to his mom about it ._.
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
@SW-User I'm really thinking that's the best option....it's not healthy...and it scares me
