Only one person. We've been friends since childhood. We tried dating in our early 30s but that didn't work out and we decided we were better as friends. Nearly 40 years later we are still close.

All the other jokers that I broke up with can stay gone.

I don't think that people should be friends with an ex. Unless it's an ex-spouse for the children. That's a time when you need to dig deep and be cordial. If kids aren't involved, move on. There was a split for a reason and it can just be toxic.

It depends on the person, history of the relationship and how bad the breakup was. I personally would struggle to be friends with an ex, I get jealous. 🤷
