Depends on the maturity of both and whether it was a mutual breakup. Some can pull it off. Some can't and end up jealous and bitter.

It would be hard not to cross lines if the goal was to be strictly platonic and not FWB. Also, if one of the two still had feelings and wanted more, the friendship would become difficult at best...for obvious reasons
