Why do some nice people end up with people who aren't so nice?
My older brother is a nice guy, but he's been married to a stuck up woman for 14 years and they have a kid together. They are opposites, yet love each other.

That depends on a lot of different factors, but most nice people end up with people that are no so nice because that's just the way it ended up. The person's true colors almost always never shows up in the beginning.
