Do you spoil your significant other?

And what’s your definition of spoil if yes?

Do they spoil you?

I spoiled one SO outrageously. I made every decision, every menu, every plan in the light of 'will he like it?' I learned to cook what he liked and if he was home, cooked only those. I took an interest in what interested him and forgot my own. I bought his clothes and laid them out for him and when he complained there were no shirts that fit him I bought a sewing machine and taught myself to make his shirts. It was genuinely absurd and in time I realized I was no longer THERE.

I have been spoiled by another SO outrageously in different ways. He retained his own excellent Self but made my life one long fragrant candlelit bubblebath. I liked it, don't get me wrong. But that wasn't so good either because one day he got sick.

The best way to spoil is to spoil each other in the ways that are most important to each.

@Mamapolo2016 I’ve done this in previous relationships. I lost myself. How did you recover?
First I filled the bathtub with alcohol and took a long dreadful soak. Eventually I realized ME wasn't in the bottle, and the person who was sloshing in the booze was nearly dead, and I dried out. Then through addiction treatment, AA and the faith I thought I'd lost, I built a new place to live. Only people who want the best for me as much as I want the same for them are allowed through the door.

If I can help, my PM door is open. @Fluffy407

@Mamapolo2016 I’ve found this to be one of the deepest truths in all my life
@Fluffy407 Yes, ma'am. "You don't scare ME. I've been there, have the t-shirt."
@Fluffy407 Always, always, always remember you are not a victim. You are triumphant over much that would have killed lesser mortals.
