Why is it that some adults seem to use age to discredit someones opinion or objective facts?

It's fairly annoying really. They're like little kids I talk with except they try to use they're older age as an excuse. I have a feeling as I get older. They'll just turn to insults and revert to how people around my age act like when they can't handle a argument. I love to challenge and be challenged. But its no fun if someone is taking it from a emotional stand point if that makes sense. To be fair these older adults generally have emotional issues from what I noticed. Usually had a medical problem. Also a lot of them tend to be women. Not to point anyone out but older ladies especially love to make drama with me. Unless they agree with me. Then its all rosey dosey. If it's not age, it's experience, if not experience, its a college degree or a speciality. "I don't need to prove myself, I just know every document, every link, any type of reasoning coming from you is bullshit because I'm older, or I have a college degree, or I experienced this." Honestly though I still enjoy debating with older people, these people don't make up the majority. Its just I always come across those few... I do like learning from others, proving people wrong, and what not. People around my age aren't their yet. So I feel like when I debate with them, they're slow, not into it, or just don't care to reason but try to succumb to emotional manipulation. by making my argument emotionally less probable. so nothing i say really matters.

I’ve had the same problem . Everyone assumes that I don’t know what I’m talking about because I’m in my 50’s , they think I’m out of touch .

@Ramon67 Out of touch? means you don't conform. Basically since you don't follow society. Which is the dumbest thing. I think the best opinions to conform to expectations so easily as the majority.
