I was told by my classmate that men view them as a treasure or an achievement because virgins are rare nowadays.

A girl being a virgin is seen as good because she hasn't been with a whole bunch of dudes.
A guy being a virgin is bad because it means he is not experienced.
It's an odd double standard but it does exist.
