Why is romantic love viewed as a cultural invention created by men for the subjugation of women?

Why do people believe that? Didn't they have no emotion at all believing that love is a fictitious substitute that a woman have been deceived into accepting in lieu of power, prestige, wealth, education or any empowering ideal to which women may aspire...having love is somehow supposed to make any deficiency in their lives acceptable.

Lol it looks to me like it works a lot more the other way around. Historically men had the power trough raw physical strength and women had less rights so love worked pretty much the other way around allowing women to dominate from the shadows, reminding men that they are nothing without romantic Succes. Just look at all romantic comedies, sure as a feminist you might think " they are trying to sell you that a woman only needs love to be hapoy" but i see the oposite they are selling usually that no matter how succesful a man is unhappy without the right woman. So a man chases money power etc then realizes he needs love, the woman just chases love and gets it who is actually pictured as the inferior emotional intelligence when you really think about it? :)
The reality is when we look at something abstract like love and how it gets treated in society we each see what we want to see and the truth is not a singular entity but an ever changing amorphous amalgam of personal truths.
