How can I tell someone to back off when all he did was show kindness and affection?

@EllieTheKittyKat But that would hurt. And it's hard to tell him frankly that I don't like him, at least not the way he does...

@ThisDame then tell him that you just want to be friends and that you don't like him, like him. Better to be straight up than to string him along.
