Do you hate it when your parents are condescending?

Told my parents I was going out to neighboring city with my sister which was an hour away, then they lashed out on me, so i lashed out back at them. They called me disrespectful. I should’ve just said okay and called it a day. Would’ve just liked it if they calmly said no, but they got mad at me instead. .-.
