What do you think is more important today, in our generation, looks or personality?

That's too simplistic of a question - it's not binary. Until you meet a person, all you have to go on is looks. And not just in terms of attractiveness - but does the person look smart? - do they look like they'd be interesting to talk to or do they look fun or energetic. What's their body language like, which I guess is a combination of both looks and personality? So many of our judgements on people have to be made without actually getting any information on them aside from what they look like. And in all of those contexts - of which there are many - looks are the only thing that matter.

But then there are the other contexts - the ones where you're actually talking to the person or spending time with them or doing business with them or whatever, and in all of those contexts, personality matters a hell of a lot more than looks. Except that, how many of those closer sorts of contexts do you miss out on, because you have a look or put out a vibe that pushes people away?

At the end of the day, I think that personality matters more (which I think most people would agree with), but that looks help a lot in initiating the kinds of connections where personality gets revealed. They both matter.
