What does it mean when a guy calls you silly?

It's a dumb question, but I don't speak English and I'm curious. I want to know what he really means by calling me like that.

In person, if he says it with a smile, he thinks you're cute. Via text with an "lol" or "🙂", he thinks you're cute.
