Why do people assume that if you say you're in an interracial relationship (as a white female)...

You're dating a black man? My boyfriend is Asian (Thai/Lao) lol I guess that pairing BM/WM is more common? Nothing wrong with it, I think all interracial relationships are awesome! :)

There are no "different races" in my opinion. That was instituted fur purposes of separation, domination, control and reason for crimes against humanity and therefore excuses.

Humans have differing physical characteristics dictated my the climates, conditions and their adaptations to then as humans migrated and settled wherever. We just look different which I think is intriguing and fabulous. I don't fear differences. I celebrate them. They intrigue me. This is my view of it, of course.

Sterling - there are non-white skinned Caucasian and mongoloid "race" Asians that are darker than many black/Negroids. Physical features more than skin colors are better indicators of so-called races. Of the 3 basic so called races - all 3 span most of the skin color spectrum.

Not all Caucasoid race people are pale white skinned.

Not all Negroid race people are black or dark skinned

Mongoloid (or Asian) race people can be anything from pail white to a father cocoa brown.

I think it's ridiculous to even use black and white to label 3 of the 3 so called races as they are misleading and limiting and not very inclusive. "Asian" is also limiting and non-in inclusive.

Just more evidence to me that the whole so called race thing is horse manure in my eyes. A person's nationality/ethnicity should be enough of an identifier.

Just my view, again.

It's more starkly obvious that it's interracial when it's black on white. Skin color is the biggest factor that people notice with all the races, black's have the most significant contrast, so that puts them on the other side of the spectrum opposite whites. So it's honestly the most exemplary example of the interracial concept. It's just the easiest and most successful way to convey that message.

@CherJerfey I couldn't agree more! I saw my boyfriend as a person, not by his ethnicity. I don't know why they call different backgrounds "race" because we all consist of the human race. IDK genetics and different backgrounds are fascinating to me.

yeah probably just a more stereotypical thing, but you are right, interracial isn't just black/white. To be honest when you say interracial relationship I immediately think black/white, but won't any more. Thanks!

I think ww/bm are very common also aw/wm are very common interracial relationships. And that's why people assume that you are with a black man. Imo

@AvGeek I'm speaking from the view of the general populace. Not the fringe perspective of someone who clearly takes particular interest in the subject.

I don't automatically think that. But then I kinda date only Asian ladies, so....

@MrRandomguy10 that's what I was thinking! But you rarely hear about Asian men with White women or Black women with White men
