It would be possible to remain friendly, if they were friends for longer than their relationship lasted. And even then, nothing is guaranteed.
Personally, I would never keep my gf for doing anything because of my own fears. A relationship is based on trust and if she can't stay faithful with her ex, then what's it going to be whenever some guy pops up. Better to get rid of it now. If you want an independent and faithful woman like me then you have to do those leaps of faith and let her be.
