When is it the right time to ask someone to marry you?

So I'm in an amazing relationship with an Army man! It has been 9 months and we both agree that we have an awesome connection and have talked about marriage (he brought it up the 3rd month of dating me) Anyway, he's deployed and I miss him terribly. But, I thought, when is it best to propose? 6 months and up? I know it hasn't been a year and we want to get a place but I honestly think about it a lot lol

Thanks!

Before you make a decision. Talk to the other halves of those already serving!
Ask them what being married to a serviceman is like.
It's one of those rare things where many partners experience the same things.
But they might be able to give you some insight when things aren't so good.
Service personnel are a weird bunch!
They go places and do things you and I don't like to think about. But they have to do them anyway!!
That means they carry the burden of a responsibility. Which often means stress.
Think you could handle all that ?
Like I say. Talk to them before you make concrete decisions.

Congratulations!
Time isn't the only consideration, but how you feel about each other.

If it's a good connection and he's a good man, why waste time?
