What goes through a man's mind when he flirts with other women?

@JustAsking Okay, gotcha. Here's my two cents after years of research. Men are hot wired to think about sex from the moment they wake up. It's a unconscious reaction. Women, not so much, so we don't really get that. But men automatically think, I wonder what it would be like to do her. I don't fault them for that.

When their conscious brain kicks in, they are either, 1) doing it because it's fun, it's only meant in a lighthearted manner and the recipient appreciates it, no harm to their partner intended, or 2) if it's done blatantly without regard for the partner and is hurtful, then the man should reconsider why he has a partner and go play the field if he must, shame on him.

In the end, I can only control my own behavior in a relationship. So if it is hurting me in some way, I tell him and tell him again. If he doesn't get it, then I consider what does that say about how much he cares and respects me. Love is an action word, there is no "But, babe, I can't help it, it's not a big deal" in love.

@CoffeeFirst BTW, if my DH flirts with women, I'm thrilled, I really am. But that is a verrryyyyyy long story. lol 🙃
