Why do people take being nice as flirting?

There’s clearly a difference, are you too desperate to be able to tell the difference?

I was nice to a guy at work because he was new, I was training him and he told me he was homeless. So I offered him rides home too. Next thing I know. He's telling my coworkers things are getting steamy between us. Wtf man

@Classy lucky for me, they just laughed at him and thought "yeah okay" 😂 they didn't believe him. But I still get teased about it and they call the idiot my bf when he shows up
