Why do people take being nice as flirting?

There’s clearly a difference, are you too desperate to be able to tell the difference?

Being nice is so rare now

@RoxClymer I like being nice… however it sometimes gets misinterpreted by someone, they often become mean when I clarify that I was being friendly. Makes me shy away from being nice sometimes.
