I need advice

A couple weeks ago I went to this coffee shop that I never went to before. The guy that worked there happened to be an old friend from a mental hospital I used to go to. I ordered a hot chocolate and when I went to pay he said "your total is $0" with a smile on his face. I was in complete shock and of course argued with him but he said it was on him. Was he just being nice or do you think it was something else? I've never had something like that happen to me before...
He was just being nice, being nice is contagious, try it! I watch the film Pay it forward, id been doing that for years!

Probably just being nice. Don't over-think it.

Thanks @LyricalOne
He was just being nice, just accept the favor and go on with your life... ;) because he was an old friend... if you don't want that to be just a nice gesture, go and ask him if he would be interested to go out with you, if you are interested of course too or if he wants to be friends and hang around sometimes, because the world need more friendship not more yoga and coffee haha enjoy your life as it unfolds be good and be safe and don't exploit his good gesture all the time now haha
@blooblookookoo well said Sir!
@Diepere Thanks!

Where I'm from, it's not all too unusual to pay for a friend's bill. Especially if you haven't seen that friend in a while. I think he's really just happy to see a familiar face around. :)

I think he was just being nice. You and him share a bond (a shared history so to speak) and he was acknowledging it. Perhaps he feels something more, I think he definitely likes you as a person. I think it was an act of solidarity for someone he likes.

Never overlook that there are kind people in the world ... For all you know he may have been repaying some small kindness that you showed him

Was your drink extra creamy?
moonlightlove · 26-30, F
@LucyCan not sure, it was the first time I had it. But the drink literally wasn't too hot or too cold, I was able to drink it immediately without burning my tongue

@moonlightlove I was trying to be disgusting.

I think it was something else

Maybe he's still crazy
moonlightlove · 26-30, F
He had depression. He wasn't crazy. Mental hospitals aren't for just crazy people. @Goralski

He was being nice.
