Have you EVER had a good LD relationship?

How long did it last?

I think I've whined somewhere that people need more terms than just "long distance", there are so many ways to have a relationship to choose from these days.
And that I don't get people's Long Distance hatred on SW. There's lots of silent types who have occasionally posted or told of happy LD relationships, but not a day does go by that people don't post "LD relationships, they suck right?" with a bunch of "Yeah, that's for stupid lamers only" responses, like this one for example!

Aaand in case you wanted "unbiased" stats, it's weird enough that there is http://www.longdistancerelationshipstatistics.com/
"75 % of all engaged couples have been (at some point) in a long distance relationship"
Do you REALLY want to take the chances of hitching up with someone who CAN'T handle long-distance relationships? It's not ideal, but in light of statistics, a couple who haven't been in LDR at some point just haven't had it happen YET.

Also, (almost) nobody would be in an LDR if they weren't good, at some point. Absolute majority of all relationships end; most of them are "short distance" relationships. And I need to find that study which shows that LDR or ones that started LDR are actually more enduring than ones that start locally. Probably has to do with that "every relationships turns long distance at some point" effect in part. On the flip side, many people need that "near" relationship.

So, any volunteers for a study? ;)
