Why would men not be willing to take the male contraceptive pill?

I'm a pharmacy student, and during a recent class we were discussing the possibility of the male contraceptive pill. My professor asked the males in the class if they would, to my surprise only 1/3 put their hands up. Please keep in mind you can still ejaculate, but what else would make it emasculating? Just trying to understand.

In theory that sounds good. How far away from it are we?

In Australia the male contraceptive pill is about 10-15 years away due to trying to get rid of some of the side effect and improving the therapeutic benefit. I honestly think this a bit silly considering the side effects and their similarity to the female contraceptive pill. However they are studying a new method of giving IUD to men.

@SDFORME yea gotta be careful with all the lawsuits. What if someone takes it and can’t ever have kids?

@SamuraiJack I guess, I would prefer that, but I can understand that some men do want children just like some women do. They would get in quite a bit of trouble with lawsuits.

@SDFORME It sounds like a good idea. If I try it I hope it doesn’t make my dick fall off.

@SamuraiJack Haha, no it won't.

@SDFORME I’m sure it would grow back right?

@SamuraiJack Just get a dick transplant. It'll feel the same.
