When someone says they miss you, do they really mean it?

missing sounds to me like i have to entertain someone or so.
if someone says this to me i get trust issues. i like to live in the moment and there doesnt exist missing. missing is something which is unnecessary.
i always imagine a couple where a person did a mistake and says: i miss you please come back.
but the fuck.?
missing is so so wrong and if someone tells this to me then i think: i dont entertain you. and if you want to do something with me then just come to me and show appreciation

I believe them. I just find it a little weird that i can be missed like that.

If I tell someone I miss them....I really mean it.
When someone tells me they miss me I'm humbled they think enough of me to miss me. But I do struggle to think why anyone would miss me x

No clue.. but that's not the problem... The problem is that I usual can't respond "I miss you too" so it's pretty awkward 😅
