I went to a wedding last night as the guest of the groom's cousin, my on-again/off-again ex-boyfriend.

I've been to many weddings of course, but this was the first time I didn't know either the bride or the groom and hardly knew anyone in attendance. It's very different going as "and guest"!

I learned a few things last night too. First and foremost, I learned that he talks about me a lot! His sister was all over me all night trying to get intel on me... How did I feel about him? Etc.

But it was a fun night with tons of dancing...and I (the shortest girl there) caught the bouquet!!

@Scribbles This was the first for me and it was fun. All the weddings I've been to so far have been within my family and I've been the "and family" part of the invitation. Lol.

But yeah, had a great time dancing with people I didn't know at all.

Having or being a plus one at a wedding (or a funeral-hey, it happens) has pros and cons to it and has everything to do with the who, what, where, how, whys of the situation. I tend to plan having any plus ones strategically. Otherwise I don't mind going in alone at all. I like a party and to dance and to talk and connect to people. But I'd never have a plus one just to have a "plus one".
