1. Because they can.

2. Cheating cannot happen on its own, you need an equally responsible accomplice.

If you can do it, leave. If you cannot do it immediately, start planning for it.

@Northwest Cheating is the responsibility of one person. The one who chooses it. No one makes them cheat. There are other options that person could have chosen, if they're unhappy. Cheating is always wrong. One needs to take responsibility for their own actions and choices.
