How do you respond a question you don't have answers?

I stay quite because more likely I'm not prepared, not the perfect moment or haven't crossed my mind yet..esp for a very petty, cute but critical question like "Why I'm staying?" honestly its weird there's no answer to this question.. 🙊

I'll either ignore or tell the person I can't answer.
And if they push persistently as some people are capable of, I do not hide my annoyance.
