I Have a Crush On My Professor
I feel like I was meant to cross paths with this man. He's so intelligent, charismatic, funny, and just interesting in so many ways. My professor has successfully made me, an idiot who didn't care about Philosophy, Jazz, Consciousness, or Mathematical Beauty up until last year want to learn everything about all those things and more.
I remember not even thinking he was that hot when I first saw him, my type has always been long haired metal heads or punks around my age. Now boys my age just don't interest me that much. Who knew older bald guys could be so sexy? He has this captivating smile, voice, and salt and pepper facial hair. His eyes are out of this world, they seem blue from afar, but up close they go from blue then fade to green until they become almost yellow around the pupil ...like Autumn leaves. One day he wore an olive green sweater that complimented them so well.
It's not just about looks obviously, he just says the most intelligent things. One day he explained that people ask him why he thinks the arts and humanities should be taught. He reasoned that society insists we only go to school to graduate, get a job, make money, and be a part of the machine...to that he responds, "You train animals, but you educate humans". That made me fall for him harder than I did before.
I sit near him in class (at our conference style table) and just stare into his eyes as he goes on and on about the most interesting things. I don't think it distracts me, though. The crush on him actually helps my grade, because I don't want to disappoint him so I work extra hard. Its so rewarding when he tells me I made a great point or when he even bothered to post the painting I referenced on BlackBoard. I remember that I wrote an essay a couple weeks back and he told me it was the best one he'd read on the subject.
I wonder if he even knows and likes me back? Or if he just thinks it is a cute school girl crush? He is old enough to be my daddy. He must be at least 48-50 something if he can remember the Vietnam war being televised.
