how can you tell if someone likes you?

i'm not sure what to feel half of the time. my friends tell me that someone might be interested in me and that they notice them being into me and that i should approach them about it. however, i don't see the "attraction" that they talk about

For me, I try to feel their aura. But no matter how much I look for it, I don't want to embarrass myself by asking them if they are interested in me. What if they're just being friendly? I have nothing to back that up. But you'll never see me confronting someone on whether they want to fuck or be a couple.

I guess I can tell you to, follow your gut or instinct.
