According to an Arkansas State Police press release, special agents with the ASP Criminal Investigation Division arrested Eureka Springs City Councilman Harold Frederick Meyer, 76, and charged him with first-degree criminal mischief and aggravated assault for two separate incidents that occurred during the summer.
On June 3, 2025, the Eureka Springs Police Department requested assistance from ASP CID regarding an incident involving Councilman Meyer damaging personal property during a community event at a city park. The investigation resulted in a felony charge of first-degree criminal mischief, ASP said.
On July 14, 2025, Eureka Springs police submitted a second request for an ASP CID investigation into Councilman Meyer’s role in a physical altercation with a neighbor. At the conclusion of that investigation, Meyer was charged with aggravated assault, officials said.
Just a couple summer assaults 🤷 that's not too bad.
