It's not easy when you're proud and particularly if you have a history of always being the one to blame. Even if you have a history of actually doing wrong it can be hard when it seems like people will never let you get past that. To admit that you're wrong in those circumstances can feel like you're admitting that you haven't changed, even if you truly have.
