Age-Gap Relationships

There's, apparently, 20 years between me and my fiancé...ie, he's older.

I say 'apparently' because it was the furthest thing from my mind! Two people connecting...caring...loving.. laughing.

The last thing I was thinking about was age!

We get on great. Friends and family love him, as his collective do me (I say modesty! Lol!) so there's nothing more to add.

We've been in each other's orbit for around 9 or so years, dating....god...7 or so...?!?

20 year age gaps isnt a big deal when one is 20 and one is 40.........but when one gets to be 40 and the other one is at retirement age ...it starts to feel like a bad idea. In 15 more years more one is the younger nurse in the prime of her life for the other who is dying. When the older one dies the younger one is past 60....and statistically their chance of finding someone else at that age is about zero. Since women live longer than men usually that dooms that 60 year old woman to maybe 30+ years of being alone. Not a very romantic analysis.....but a realistic one for sure.

@MaBalzEsHari ...and yet I know of some very sprightly gentlemen, now in their 90's, that lead very active lives...and also run marathons! Age means nothing. It's how you look after yourself that matters more.

@SarahTheHooker True enough. But the cemeteries all over the world are filled with millions who never made 90.....or 70. Its a crap shoot. And a large age difference has other downsides.........like pensions with an over a 5 year age difference...........etc.

But it's taste. I date much older...and much younger.
