An oddity i ponder

I find it a bit strange that people stay in relationships for so long that, when they leave, they are left with absolute hate or disdain for their ex. I have been wrong, and I have been hurt, but I don’t carry it around with me. Where there once was love, there still is, and I hope they are doing well. I know things can be complicated when children are involved, but outside of that, I don’t know why people get to that point.

I’m always willing to listen to any stories or perspectives on this.

I think a common problem is people rush into relationships and when it doesn't turn out the way they imagined they blame everything wrong in their life on the ex...

@Convivial you are right that people often don't take accountability. Maybe those same people rather carry hate than face reality that they made mistakes.

Unhealthy dynamics can make you stay too long.

Sometimes we get lied to and fooled. We're hanging on to someone we believe deserves believing in, but for whatever reason it doesn't matter to them if it hurts you.
